Zivko Edge 540

The Edge 540 manufactured by Zivko Aeronautics is capable of a 420 degree per second roll rate and a 3,700 foot per minute climb rate. The Edge 540 is an active private-participant of International Unlimited Aeronautics several times since the mid 1990s.

Edge 540 aircraft is an advanced, Ultimate Class aerobatic aircraft that meets or exceeds the performance of any other aerobatic aircraft available. It utilizes a computer optimized steel tube fuselage resulting to stronger and lighter fuselage to take over 15 G’s of sustained loading. The E-540 aircraft has the highest aerobatic thrust to weight ratio of any competition aerobatic aircraft, weighing over 300 lbs less than the Extra 300S, the E-540 has an additional 27+HP.

A two-seat version of the Edge 540 is the Edge 540T and the Zivko Edge 540X is one of the aircraft being used in the Red Bull Air Race.
